The agreement between you and me when you use Precision Astrology or buy a reading. Plain English, and nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer.

About these terms

Precision Astrology is run by Ian Crocker, a sole trader based in Cornwall, England ("I", "me"). You can reach me at [email protected] or through the contact page.

These terms cover precision-astrology.com and its free tools, the app at app.precision-astrology.com, the reader area at my.precision-astrology.com, and any reading you request or buy. How I handle your personal data is set out in the privacy policy. By using the service or ordering a reading you agree to these terms.

The free tools

The free chart, pattern finder and calculators are free to use, without an account. They are calculated with the Swiss Ephemeris, and the results are only as accurate as the birth details you enter, especially the birth time. They are provided as they are: I work to keep them right, but I can't promise they will always be available or free of errors.

What a reading is

A reading describes what the measurements in a natal chart mean, in plain language. Your chart is calculated to the arcminute and measured before anything is written. The reading is then drafted for your chart alone, using AI as a drafting tool under a method I built and a library I put together. Each reading is made under my direction, and I am answerable for what it says.

A reading is for reflection. It does not predict events, and it is not medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice. Please don't rely on it for decisions about your health, money or safety, and speak to a qualified professional about those. Requesting and buying a reading

  • You must be 18 or over to request or buy a reading.
  • Joining the waiting list or sending a request doesn't commit you to anything. When a place opens I'll reply by email with the price, what's included, and the date I'll deliver by.
  • You can pay for your reading on the site, straight after sending your birth details from the readings page or from your free chart, without waiting for my reply. The payment page shows the price, says when your reading will be delivered, and asks whether I should start straight away. A gift of that reading is paid for in the same way. Anything else you ask for waits for my reply.
  • The price is the one on the payment page, or in my reply and on your invoice, in pounds sterling and including any VAT. Prices on the site can change, but not for a reading you've already paid for or been invoiced for.
  • Our contract starts when you pay. Payment is taken securely by card through my payment provider.
  • The birth details must be right. A reading is prepared from the date, time and place you give. If the time is unknown or uncertain, tell me: some parts of a chart depend on it. I can't be responsible for a reading built on details that turn out to be wrong, but tell me before I start and I'll correct them.
  • Gift readings. You may request a reading for someone else as a gift. You give me their name, their email address and their birth details, and the reading is delivered to them, not to you. It is theirs, and they can ask me to delete it.

Delivery

Your reading is delivered as a private course in the reader area at my.precision-astrology.com, by the date I gave you. If you paid on the site, that is within 7 days of my starting it: straight away if you asked me to, or once the 14 days for cancelling have passed. If I can't meet that date, I'll tell you as soon as I know, and you can choose a new date or a full refund.

The course comes with a tutor you can ask about your reading. The tutor is an AI assistant working from your reading and my library. It is there to help you understand the reading, not to give advice, and it can be wrong. It has a fair-use limit, currently 50 questions a day. You'll keep access to your reading and tutor for as long as I run the reader area. If I ever close it, I'll give you notice and a way to keep a copy of your reading first.

Cancellation and refunds

  • You can cancel within 14 days of paying, for a full refund, as long as I haven't started preparing your reading.
  • Once I start preparing it, the right to cancel ends. I'll only start within those 14 days if you ask me to, and I'll ask you to confirm that you understand you won't then be able to cancel. If you'd rather keep the full 14 days, I'll wait until they've passed before I start. If you pay on the site, the payment page asks you to choose between the two.
  • To cancel, email [email protected] or use the contact page. You don't have to give a reason.
  • Refunds go back to the card you paid with, within 14 days of your cancelling.
  • If I can't deliver your reading at all, you get a full refund.
  • Your legal rights stay. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 a reading must be as described and prepared with reasonable care and skill. If it isn't, tell me and I'll put it right, or give you a full or partial refund if I can't.

Accounts

New accounts on app.precision-astrology.com are closed; existing accounts carry on under these terms, and you can delete yours at any time from the account menu. Your sign-in to the reader area is set up when your reading is ready. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell me if you think someone else has used them.

Using the service fairly

Please don't:

  • submit someone else's birth details, except to give them a reading as a gift;
  • try to break, overload or get around the limits of the tools, the app or the tutor, or collect their content automatically;
  • use the tutor or any messages to harass anyone or to send anything unlawful.

If you do, I may suspend your access, and I'll tell you why.

Who owns what

The site, the tools, the method, the library and the text of the readings belong to me. Your reading is yours to read, keep and share with people you choose for your own personal use. Please don't republish it, sell it or use it to train or build another service.

If something goes wrong

I'm responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of my breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. I'm not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, for decisions you make on the strength of a reading or a tool, or for business losses: the service is for personal use. Otherwise my responsibility to you is limited to the price you paid.

Nothing in these terms limits my responsibility for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow me to limit, and nothing affects your statutory rights.

Changes

I may change the service or these terms, for example when the law changes or I add or retire a product. The terms that apply to a reading are the ones in place when you paid for it. If I change something that affects a reading you've already bought, I'll tell you first.

Complaints and the law

If you're unhappy, email [email protected] and I'll aim to reply within 14 days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we can't settle a dispute between us, you can take it to the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, to your local courts.
